     What is Microdermabrasion?
It is a physical micro exfoliation of your dead skin layer.  Some places use machines that shoot jagged crystals onto your skin actually damaging it and scratching it to get the skin off.  We use the Diamond Tome Machines.  There are no crystals, no damage to your skin just a mild exfoliation by wands with tips made of crushed diamond chips.  Very few places will go to the expense of the Diamond Tome machine, but at the Phenom 1 Spa everything we use is the best, from our machines to our products.

Does it hurt and will I be red?
No, it doesn't hurt and with our treatments you'll experience smoother softer skin with a radiant glow after just one treatment.

Is Microdermabrasion For Everyone?
No, You must have somewhat tight and healthy skin.  Thin loose skin would be stretched and damaged more.  Skin diseases would obviously be irritated.  Some of these skin problems can however be treated with mild Glycolic or chemical peels.

What are Chemical Peels?
They are combinations of different fruit acids or enzymes, sugar beets, dried grape seeds ect...  They are designed to break down the gluten that is holding about 14 dead layers of skin on your face speeding up the rejuvenation process of your skin.  The process removes layers of dead skin and helps lighten and tighten the skin.

Do Chemical Peels burn?
The peels we do are not the deep peels so usually all you feel is a slight tingling sensation in which a fan usually eliminates the problem.

How long will I be Peeling?
With a light peel the most you should expect is possible some dry patches.  The peel itself is immediate.

What will I look like and can I wear make-up?
You should leave glowing with the cleanest skin you've ever had.  It's better to give your skin a chance to breathe but yes you can wear make-up if you need to.

There are many different types of peels, different companies who carry peels, but the important thing is to continue educating yourself on what's out there.  I've found that every company has a different view on different peels.  you can learn to combine the peels for better results or combine treatments.  Either way every person is different and will require personal attention in order to achieve the results they are looking for.  Your skin is different ever day, and treatments may need to be adjusted to meet this need. Some people get a little too aggressive.  This can be dangerous as scarring can occur.
